FAQ

What is Dungeons and Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game. In the words of the official publisher:

‘In Dungeons & Dragons, the players form an adventuring party who explore fantasy worlds together as they embark on epic quests and level up in experience. The Dungeon Master (also known as the DM) is the game's referee and storyteller. There’s no winning or losing in D&D—at least, not in the conventional way.’ - What is D&D | Dungeons & Dragons (wizards.com)

Our D&D events are inclusive spaces and the Dungeon Masters will create campaigns that are enjoyable for all.

Who can attend?

These sessions are suitable for people ages 16-24.

Can I attend one session, but not the other?

No, you must attend both sessions. This has been designed so you can get the benefit of both venues and both dungeon masters.

Can I pick which venue I’m in?

We’ll let you know which venue you are at on the first Saturday, and then you will attend the other venue the following Saturday. This means that you can experience both venues.

How long will each session be?

Sessions will be roughly 4 hours each, with breaks for refreshments. You can bring snacks with you or buy refreshments from the gallery cafe.

Can I just show up?

No, you must book a space so that our dungeon masters can prepare the campaign.

Do I have to make my own character, or will I be provided one?

We encourage you to create your own character! Here are some helpful links to get you started:

Do I need to bring my own dice?

Yes, feel free to bring your own but don’t worry if you don’t have any – we have spares!

Will there be a session 0?

Session 0 is the first session of a D&D campaign and is a chance for players to meet their DMs, and learn the ground rules of the party and players.

Once you have booked your spot, we’ll be in contact to arrange a time for a virtual Session 0 that suits you.
