Your data: Workforce Development & Expansion Funding Application

How we use your information

Aberdeen City Council provides support through the Workforce Development and Expansion Funding to eligible Early Learning Childcare staff and registered Child Minders.  We use the information you provide in your application to determine your eligibility for funding to undertake an Early Learning and Childcare qualification through an allocated Training Provider.

If your application is successful, we will ask for contact details of your manager and mentor. 
These will be passed to the Training provider for the purpose of arranging contact meetings.
 

Who we share information with

For the purposes of making the decision on your eligibility, allocate funding and your placement with a Training Provider, your information will be shared with:

  • Our Workforce Development and Expansion Funding Panel members
  • Your allocated Training Provider
  • Manager of your setting (where applicable)

How long we keep information for

If the application is successful, we will keep this information for 6 years from the date the funding was awarded. If the application is unsuccessful, we would keep this information for 1 year from the date of the decision. Statistical information is kept for reporting purposes on the number of applicants and source of applications, no personal information is included.

Our legal basis

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this data. Wherever we process personal data, we need to make sure we have a legal basis for doing so in data protection law. The Council understands our legal basis for processing personal data as part of our public task. This is because administering the Workforce Development and Expansion Funding to develop our early learning and childcare workforce is part of our public task under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
