How we use your information
Every 3 years, local councils such as Aberdeen City Council are required to write a report for the Scottish Government about how we help children and young people enjoy their rights in the city. Aberdeen City Council is asking you to take part in this survey to tell us about how you feel you are supported to enjoy your rights and to help us write this report.
We ask that you provide the name of the school you attend and your year group so that we have a picture of who has taking part in the survey.
Who we share information with
Summary data will be published within the report that we write. No personal information will be included, and you will not be identifiable from the information. If you provide any comments, we may use them in the report, but you won’t be identified as having made the comment.
How long we keep your information for
We will keep a copy of your response until we complete the analysis. We will keep the summary data for a period of up to 3 years beyond publication of the report.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have and how they work in practice, as well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Whenever we process data, we need to have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council understands our legal basis for processing your data as being part of our public task.
In carrying out this function, the Council is also likely to process special categories of personal data. The Council understands our legal basis as being necessary for purposes of substantial public interest.
