Aberdeen City Council uses the information you provide about you and your child to assess your application for an Eligible 2’s place, the suitability of that setting for your child’s needs and for planning for the early learning of your child. We will also use the information you provide to keep in touch with you about your application where required.
Who we share information with
For the purposes of verifying your entitlement to an Eligible 2’s place we will share information with Job Centre Plus or if your child is looked after, we will liaise with Aberdeen City Council’s Social Work department.
If your preference is to place your child at one of our Funded Providers, we will share information about your child as well as your contact details with them so that they can contact you to discuss enrolling your child.
If your child’s Health Visitor contacts us to ask if you have made an application on behalf of your child or to ask for an update on the status of your child’s application, we will share this information.
We are required to report statistical information to the Scottish Government. This information will not identify you or your child.
How long we keep your information for
We will keep your information for 2 years from the date of the application.
We retain eligible 2 applications made in the last 7 years and have a project underway to implement the disposal of those applications so that we don’t hold your personal information for longer than is necessary.
We will keep anonymised data for 5 years for the purpose of performance reporting to assess uptake of the service and service planning. Anonymised statutory statistical information is retained permanently.
