How we use your information
Thank you for signing the Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge. We will use your contact details to confirm your commitment and to send you the Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge media pack.
If you sign up on behalf of a business or organisation and decide to opt-in to the online register of signatories, your business name and logo will be displayed on the Aberdeen City Council website.
If you have requested to be kept up to date with news and events about Net Zero Aberdeen, Aberdeen Adapts, and the Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge, we will use your email address to send these updates to you. This is entirely your choice, and you can change your mind at any time.
How long we keep your information
If you no longer wish to be a signatory to the Pledge, you can remove your details at any time by emailing ecocity@aberdeencity.gov.uk. If you signed up on behalf of a business or organisation, we will remove the details from the online register.
Every update you receive from us will give you the option to unsubscribe if you decide you don’t want to receive these updates anymore. If you choose to unsubscribe, we will delete you from our mailing list. You can email us at ecocity@aberdeencity.gov.uk if at any time if you decide you no longer want to receive such information.
We will keep statistical information for the purpose of monitoring and reporting for 5 years. You will not be identifiable from this information.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have and how they work in practice, as well a contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you think we haven’t handled your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Wherever the Council processes personal data, we need to make sure we have a legal basis for doing so in data protection law. The Council understands our legal basis for processing personal data in relation to the Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge and updates on Net Zero Aberdeen, Aberdeen Adapts, and the Aberdeen Climate and Nature Pledge as being consent, because you have consented by signing up to the Pledge and/or to receive news notifications. You can withdraw your consent at any time, as explained above.
