How we use your information
Aberdeen City Council is working with the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) to deliver a Lend + Mend Hub in Aberdeen Central Library. When you apply to use the services and resources available in the Lend + Mend Hub, you are required to attend an induction session at the Hub and complete the Lend + Mend Hub Waiver and User Agreement to accept the conditions of use. We will use your information to keep a record you have signed the Hub Waiver and User Agreement and accept the conditions of use. We will also use your information to keep a record of whether or not you have carried out the mandatory induction session. This will allow us to manage and administer the Hub.
The information will also be used to compile statistical information for reporting purposes and to inform the development of Aberdeen City Libraries Lend + Mend Hub.
How long we keep information for
We will keep your information for five years from the date that you inform us that you no longer wish to access the Lend + Mend Hub.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have and how they work in practice, as well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Whenever we process personal data, we must have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council’s understands its legal basis for this processing as being part of our public task to advance wellbeing under Section 20 of the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003.
