How we use your information
Aberdeen City Council collects information about you when you enquire about arranging a group visit to the archive.
The Council will only use your email address or phone for the purpose of contacting you about the proposed event. The name of your organisation and the size of the group will be recorded in our service statistics and may be included in our Annual Report.
How long we’ll keep your information for
We will keep your contact details until the end of the year the event took place in. The name of your organisation and the size of the group will be recorded in our service statistics. This will not contain your personal data.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the right you have and how these work in practice, as well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you think we haven’t handled your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for your information. Wherever the Council processes your data, we need to make sure we have a legal basis for doing so in data protection law. The Council understands our legal basis for processing your data to confirm bookings and provide updates about event you are seeking to arrange as being part of our public task and a legal obligation under the Local Government Act 1994.
