You can still feed birds in your garden without attracting gulls. Only put out bird food from November to May as there is nearly always enough natural food available throughout the rest of the year.
Any bird food going out should be put into wire baskets or under a roofed bird table so that only small birds are able to get it.
Only put out small amounts of food frequently rather than large amounts at a time.

If you find a chick on the ground and it is not injured, it must be left where it is as the parents will continue to look after it. If you feel that it is in danger where it has landed, then it can be moved a short distance to a safer place. Please note that parent gulls will swoop and dive-bomb anyone who gets to close to their chicks, so always approach with caution.
