Burials and cremations

We offer a dignified, sensitive burial and cremation service.

Following the death of a loved one, most people ask a funeral director to arrange the funeral. Local funeral directors will be able to advise you on the services offered at our cemeteries and Aberdeen Crematorium.

You can also arrange a funeral yourself. See the Arranging a funeral page on mygov.scot for more information.

Burials

Burial lairs are available at Dyce, Newhills and Hazlehead Cemeteries.

The Grove Cemetery has a Jewish burial section and there are Muslim burial sections at Hazlehead and Newhills Cemeteries.

See the Cemeteries and burial grounds page for more information.

There is a babies' section at Hazlehead Cemetery for the bereaved parents of stillborn or young babies. Please download the information sheet below to find out more:

Memorials for this section have been developed in consultation with SANDS. For more information about this, please see the Babies memorial facilities page.

Cremations

Aberdeen Crematorium is situated in a tranquil woodland location off the B9119, Skene Road in the Hazlehead area about 4 miles west of the city centre.

See the Arranging a cremation page for more details about the services we offer at Aberdeen Crematorium.
