Communal mixed recycling bins
Communal mixed recycling bins are available if you live in a block of flats or tenement where there wouldn't be space for every household to have their own bin. Depending on your property, the mixed recycling bin will be located either on the street next to the general waste bin, in the bin store, or somewhere else nearby.
The mixed recycling bins have blue lids and can be used to recycle paper and cardboard, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and containers, and metal tins, cans, foil, foil trays and aerosols.
- All waste must fit in the bin with the lid closed, if the bin is full please contact the Waste and Recycling team on 03000 200 292.
- Don't leave any excess or large waste items on the street next to the bin.
- Put all recycling into the bin loose, not in plastic bags, as it will be sorted later.
- Please rinse and flatten items as much as possible before putting them in the bin.
