Supplier development

The purpose of supplier development is to support the local business community (including the 3rd sector) to develop capacity and capability to bid successfully for public contracts. The following resources are designed to increase understanding of public sector procurement policy/legislation and reduce barriers to business.  The Supplier Procurement Journey is a comprehensive Scottish Government resource providing end-to end support.  The national Supplier Development Programme (SDP) offers local businesses the opportunity to access various procurement related webinars which supplement the range of local supplier development events offered under the Positive Procurement Programme (PPP)  The PPP programme aims to increase understanding of public sector procurement policy/legislation by offering practical support in terms of i) 1 to 1 procurement surgeries, ii) training events/workshops and iii) supplier bulletins.
