Community Councils and planning

The Community Council planning protocol sets out how we work together with community councils to make sure that local communities' views are taken into account in the planning process.

This protocol:

  • Sets out clearly how the planning process works and how communities can get involved.
  • Lets communities know how they can express their views to decision makers to ensure that their suggestions and concerns are considered in the planning process.
  • Emphasises the need to be accountable to local communities.
