Come and Network Events

Come and Network 2024

Come and Network events has been organised by the Communities Team for a number of years. The aim is to enable volunteers in the city to come together and learn from each other and to increase their skills and knowledge to support their communities.

The events are aimed at volunteers including aspiring volunteers as well as anyone who wants to make a positive difference in their communities

Example workshops have included: Community Planning and the LOIP Workshop, The Community Learning & Development Plan, Youth Work, Participatory Budgeting, Accessible Communication, Community Asset Transfer, Steps Towards Employment after Covid, Digital Training, Microsoft Word & Excel, Community Benefits, Developing Resilience in our Volunteers, Committee Skills, Community Resilience, Running a Food Pantry, Community Food Growing, Child Protection, Volunteer Recruitment, funding stalls.

This year, the Come and Network event will kick off with a one-day Market Stall event, which will take place on Saturday, September 14th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Wellbeing Centre in the Bon Accord Centre (opposite Costa Coffee). 

Following this, workshops will be held at North East Scotland College (NESCOL) on the Gallowgate in the evenings during the subsequent week. Please see the details below:

  • General Advice and Networking-Open interactive area each night
  • Meditation Sessions in the Planetarium – aimed at volunteers who want to obtain the mind skills to work stress free (Tuesday and Wednesday night)

Wednesday 18th September

  • Digital Drop-in session
  • Social Media
  • AI and Search Engine Optimisation

Thursday 19th September

  • Planning and Visioning 1 and 2
  • Sustainability
