Websites for reading recommendations

Not sure what to read next? Take a look at these websites to help you find a book you'll love.

Aberdeen City Libraries Catalogue

The homepage of the library catalogue has frequently updated carousels. These virtual displays showcase books related to celebrations, book awards, or recent events held in the library to give you ideas for new books to read.

Love Reading

Love Reading is a UK based book recommendation site. This website provides various lists including books of the month, debuts of the month, the UK top 10 bestsellers,  as well as the option to browse by genre.

What Should I Read Next?

What Should I Read Next? Is a simple database which provides you with recommendations based on books you have read. Just type in the name of a book you recently enjoyed, and it will generate a list of similar titles.

Which Book

Which Book tailors recommendations to exactly the type of book you are looking for. Use the sliders to choose which characteristics you want your book to have (eg happy or sad, short or long), and Which Book will generate a list of possibilities.

Library Thing

Library Thing allows you to add books to your catalogue as you read them, and receive recommendations based on what you have already read. You can also join online bookgroups and discuss what you are reading and share reviews and recommendations.

Goodreads

Similarly to Library Thing, Goodreads allows you to create a catalogue of what you are reading, and generates recommendations based on what you have read. You can also join online bookgroups to discuss and share reviews and recommendations.
