Frequently asked questions - housing upgrades

Your home’s electrical wiring or heating system is old and may not be able to cope with the demands of modern-day living, and if left as is, may be a risk to your health and safety.  It may also impact the health and safety of anyone else living with you and your neighbours.

We encourage all our tenants to have this work undertaken to ensure their home is safe and maintained to a suitable standard.  We would encourage you to allow a contractor to attend your home to properly discuss the impact of the upgrade on your home and you.  There is no obligation to go ahead with the upgrade, even after the contractor has visited.

The contractor will write to you directly to arrange a suitable date to visit you and survey your property before any work is carried out.

The work will be carried out between April 2021 and March 2022.

No, you will no be charged for any work.

Please return the reply slip included in your letter, in the pre-post envelope, to advise us if you would like to go ahead or decline the upgrade.
