Qualification criteria
Certain youth trainees are disregarded for council tax purposes. This means that we bill your household as if you were not living there. If you live alone you will not have to pay council tax.
You will qualify for this disregard if you are:
- under 25 years old
- carrying out training according to an individual training plan under the Employment and Training Act 1973
You must meet both of the above criteria to qualify.
You will not qualify for this disregard if you are participating in an employment training scheme.
