The following activities are FREE, although there might be age restrictions in order to ensure a safe enjoyable experience for all.

Please note that some activities will have queues, these will be monitored and managed during the day. Other activities will have a booking process and will be available to book on the day at the activity.

Aberdeen Science CentreA range of interactive activities, games and science experiments focused on sustainability, covering topics like travel, fashion, and food. Alongside this will be our usual favourite 'Build It' activities suitable for the whole family. Age 5 and above  
Aberdeen Sports Village 

A range of sporting activities to try including volleyball, racket sports, mini highland games and hockey. 

You can also try: 

  • Obstacle courses and taster sessions for various sports
  • Range of parent and child activities
  • Variety of coach-led sessions for children to join in
  • Prizes and giveaways 
Suitable for all ages 
Assault Course30m long inflatable assault course that you can do on your own or challenge a parent or friend to see who can get to the end first! Age 10 and above, depending on height

This activity will be on a queuing system. 

Depending on the length of queues this may be restricted to one go at a time. 

Archery - Charlie HouseHave a shot at shooting suction cup arrows at a target!Age 8 and aboveThis activity will be on a queuing system.
Big Bounce - Charlie HouseA fun Dino inflatable for under 5's.Under 5 yearsThis activity will be on a queuing system.
Clay Pigeon Laser Shooting Compete in a shoot-off over a number of rounds to see who scores the most points!Age 12 and aboveThis activity will be on a queuing system.
Climbing Wall 

This climbing tower has 3 sides to test yourself on and has a range of holds and features.

When you reach the top, sound the air horn to let everyone know you have completed it! 

Age 8 and aboveMinimum height/weight restrictions apply. 
HM CoastguardPromoting awareness and demonstrating their equipmentSuitable for all ages 
The Critter Keeper

Come along and meet the Critter Keeper and his amazing animals known as the Critter Crew!

Learn some interesting and wonderful facts about different animals from all over the world!

Age 3 and aboveSession times will be posted on their marquee during the day.
Environment Marquee

Stalls from 6 groups with displays and interactive activities: 

  • Countryside Rangers - General countryside and nature displays plus small activities
  • Duthie Park Rangers - Information stall with craft activities
  • Aberdeen Climate Action - Information and wildlife quiz
  • Aberdeen District Bee Keepers Association - Live bees display and honey for sale
  • Cycling without age Scotland - Chance to take part in a ride within Hazlehead Park
  • New Arc - Information on the charity

Face PaintingGet your face painted and choose from a selection of fabulous designs!Suitable for all agesThis activity will be on a queuing system.
Gedwood

View wood turning activity and chat to the Ged. 

There will also be wood pieces for sale. 

Suitable for all ages 
King Axe ThrowingHave a go at throwing real axes at a target. You will have to be strong enough to lift the axe to participate. Age 10 and aboveSlots can be booked on the day. 
Medieval RealmCome along and see medieval living history displays and take to the performers. You might also be able to get your photo taken with them! Suitable for all ages  
SlacklineShow off your skills on an interactive balance related activity! Why not challenge friends and family to see who is the best? Age 5 and aboveThis activity will be on a queuing system.
TechfestHands-on science workshops suitable for families. Suitable for all the family This activity will be on a queuing system.
Segways Take part in a segway challenge course and show off your skills!6-12 yearsThis activity will be on a queuing system.
Walkabout ActsThere will be a number of walkabout acts throughout the day, from the Spotless, the Aberdeen City Council Mascot, to Giant Seagulls and Balloon Modelling. Suitable for all ages.  

Please note that a funfair will be available at the event and you will be required to pay for any activities you wish to do in that area. 

Family Stage 

This years main act will be popular children's character Mr Bloom, with music performances by Aberdeen Music Service, The Rock Choir and Vienna.
