The Westhill to Aberdeen transport corridor study looks to improve travel conditions for all forms of transport on the two main roads linking Westhill and Kingswells to Aberdeen – the A944 and A9119.
Similar to the other corridor studies, this is following the STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance) process to identify problems on these roads, look at options for improvement, and assessing options against a range of criteria to determine a recommended package of options for delivery.
Initial Appraisal of options was completed in 2020 with the outcomes summarised here.
While some of the smaller-scale recommendations are now being taken forward, either on their own or as part of wider pieces of work such as the City Centre Masterplan, some of the larger-scale options for changes to the A944 and A9119 are now undergoing more Detailed STAG appraisal. This will continue in 2022 and there will be opportunities for stakeholders and members of the public to feed into the options and comments on proposals as they are being developed. It is anticipated that appraisal work will be complete towards the end of 2022.
