When Services Find It Hard To Engage - Multi Agency Training
Multi Agency Training
*This training is for professionals working in Aberdeen City*
During this multi-agency training session, we will discuss the most up to date guidance and language practitioners should be using when they find it hard to engage with a parent/carer.
We will discuss how non-engagement on the part of service users may take the form of aggression, manipulation, concealment, blaming and ‘splitting’ professionals, inaction or selective action.
We will discuss the impact non-engagement can have on both children and professionals and cover 5 different styles of conflict management. We will then break out into groups and discuss examples cases of non-engagement before coming back to discuss support for the team around the child and ways of managing resistance.
The aims of this training are:
To promote the use of 'Services Finding It Hard To Engage'.
To raise awareness of why non-engagement by a parent or carer matters in child protection.
To increase skills and confidence in practitioners when they find it hard to engage a family.
To promote multi-agency working to help tackle non-engagement.
To identify resources for practitioners to use to help manage non-engagement.
This training will take place via MS Teams.
