CYCJ webinar: Are we Keeping The Promise for children in conflict with the law?
About this event
In February 2020 the Independent Care Review reached a number of conclusions about the way in which Scotland must change the way it cares for its children. A number of these conclusions were specific to children in the youth justice arena, with many others also relevant to children who come into conflict with the law.
Almost two years on, this webinar and discussion will ask what The Promise means for this cohort of children, what progress has been made, and what role practitioners across the workforce can play in improving the way Scotland treats its children.
The session will include a short summary of the conclusions reached by the Independent Care Review, delivered by Ross Gibson from CYCJ. Attendees will then hear from Brian Houston, the newly appointed Head of Support at The Promise Scotland, with a further input from a representative from Scottish Association Social Workers.
The webinar will encourage discussion and debate from attendees, and welcomes questions and comments from attendees. The format of the session will seek to be as interactive as possible, with numbers limited in order to facilitate that. Please do cancel your booking if you are unable to attend.
This event is primarily and specifically aimed at those who support children in conflict with the law on a daily basis, be that as family member, social worker, residential worker, teacher, police officer or panel member.
