Your contact details have been provided to Aberdeen City Council by someone who is applying for a position at the Council. In the event you are willing to provide a reference, the Council will process and retain your personal information as detailed in the undernoted privacy notice.
How we use your information
The information contained in your response to request for a reference information, including your personal information, will be used as part of the internal decision-making process in deciding whether a candidate should be offered a position with Aberdeen City Council.
Who we share information with
The Council does not share the information you have provided with any third parties unless we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep information for
In the event the person takes up an offer of employment, the reference will be kept on the employee’s file for the duration of their employment plus six years or, if working with children or vulnerable adults, for the duration of their employment plus twenty-five years. In the event the person is unsuccessful or decides not to take up an offer by the Council, the reference will be kept for six months.
