How we use your information

Aberdeen City Council Libraries uses this information in order to provide appropriate resources to fulfil your request.

 

The information will also be used to compile statistical information for reporting purposes and to inform the development of the educational resource service (e.g. informing resource purchase).

 

How long we keep your information for

We will keep the information for 6 months from the end of the academic year in which the request was made. Anonymised statistical information will be kept for 5 years.

Your rights

You have rights to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all of the rights you have as well as the contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data lawfully.

Our legal basis

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for your information. Wherever the Council processes your data, we need to make sure we have a legal basis for doing so in data protection law. The Council understands our legal basis for processing your data as part of our public task.
