Your data: Aberdeen City Child Protection and GIRFEC Training

How we use your information

If you book onto one of our training events, we will use your contact details to send you the joining details for the training session. These sessions will be run in Microsoft Teams, and in connecting your information (name, email address or telephone number) may be displayed and visible by all attendees.
Aberdeen City Council uses Eventbrite as the booking system for this training. We share yours and your line managers name and email address with Aberlour, a third sector organisation to manage the bookings for these training sessions on our behalf.

If you are unable to attend a training session, please let us know in advance so that we can reallocate your place. Where there is nonattendance without cancellation, either a member of the team or our admin support at Aberlour will contact you and your line manager to advise them of your failure to attend.

How long we keep your information

We will keep registration and attendance information for 1 year. If you choose to submit an evaluation form, we will keep your response for 3 years. Statistical information will be kept for 5 years. You will not be identifiable from this information.

Your rights

You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you think we have not handled your data properly.

Our legal basis

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Wherever we process data we must have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council’s legal basis for processing is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of the official authority vested in the Council.
