Markets in Aberdeen
Aberdeen has a number of street markets and an Indoor Market Hall in the heart of the city centre.
The largest of the street markets is the International Street Market. It visits around three times per year, in spring, winter and summer, with over 70 large stalls, many travelling from Continental Europe for the event, selling food, flowers and crafts from more than 12 countries.
The market is located on Union Terrace which is closed to traffic for the three days of the market, Friday Saturday and Sunday. It is organised on behalf of the City Council by Geraud Markets, the largest market operators in Europe, and is reputed to be the largest continental market in the UK.
Also featured is the Aberdeen Country Fair, located in Belmont Street, with around 35 small stalls, selling mainly, but not solely, food and crafts from the North East of Scotland. The market is on the first and last Saturday of every month throughout the year, and four Saturdays in December.
The Indoor Market Hall has around 500 square metres of stalls, and is located just off Union Street. The main entrance is on Market Street with a smaller access on Union Street.
