Castlegate, 22 November, 7pm, FREE
Our twin town Stavanger, Norway has once again kindly donated a magnificent Christmas tree to Aberdeen. A short carol service with civic guests from Aberdeen and Norway will take place prior to the tree switch-on.

Aberdeen Inspired, Aberdeen City Council and delivered by Codona's Amusement Park. Featuring ice skating, fairground rides, markets, refreshment and Santa's grotto.

Charlie House Santa Fun Run

Be part of the Christmas Lights Switch-on parade by running down Union Street dressed as Santa - raise money for Charlie House at the same time!

Aberdeen's Christmas lights will be switched on in a 'Fire and Ice' themed parade led the Lord Provost of Aberdeen. This year's parade includes: santas; reindeer on segways; carnival characters and special guests Vikings from Shetland.

The third annual Etsy Made Local Market promises to be a fun alternative to the traditional Christmas shopping experience. By direct from local Etsy designers, makers and vintage collectors.
1 - 24 December, Various locations, Aberdeen City Centre, FREE
Twelve striking totem pole sculptures will be located across the city centre. Created by local chainsaw wood carver Gary Shand, the carvings depict the popular carol -The Twelve Days of Christmas.
3 December (unveiling), St Nicholas Kirkyard, Aberdeen City Centre, 11am till 11.30am, FREE
then open daily until 4 January, dawn till dusk, FREE
An important reminder of what this time of year is all about. The service is open to the public. Refreshments are available after the event.
Saturday 15 December, Duthie Park Winter Gardens, 11am and 2pm, FREE
Come along to Duthie Park Winter Gardens and join in the festive celebrations. Sing your favourite carols to the accompaniment of the Bon Accord Silver Band. Food bank donations are being accepted in aid of CFIN during the event.
Monday 31 December, Schoolhill, Aberdeen City Centre, FREE
Bring in the bells at our open air stage on Schoolhill for the best street party in town! With live music from Celtic rock band Gleadhraich and Thank You for the Music (ABBA tribute) followed by a spectacular firework display from the roof of His Majesty's Theatre.

About the City Events Team
The City Events team are responsible for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of the Council's annual festivals and events programme in the City of Aberdeen. We also offer support and advice to a wide variety of other events organised in the city.
We can provide help and advice on all aspects of event management and can offer support for your event by attending any planning and/or site meetings (this may incur a charge). See Planning an Event for more information about how we can help with your event.
