Aberdeen’s Highland Games returns to Hazlehead Park on Sunday 16 June 2019. A highlight on the Aberdeen summer calendar, it promises to be a day full of family entertainment, including traditional Scottish Highland Games competitions, pipe band championships and solo piping competitions, as well as a funfair, family entertainment stage performances, free children’s activities, catering outlets and a beer tent.

Aberdeen’s Highland Games attracts between 8,000 and 15,000 people annually so it’s sure to be a great day out!

Tickets

Buy your tickets in advance to avoid the queues and save on the cost of ticket prices on the day.

Children age 0-5 years are free but still need a ticket, please "purchase" a free ticket so that we can keep track of the number of people attending.

Mascot competition

The first ever Aberdeen Highland Games Mascot Competition will have 10 mascots competing:

  • Buddy - Aberdeen Cyrenians
  • Chase - Police Scotland Youth Volunteers
  • Charlie Dog - Charlie House
  • Donny the Sheep - AFC Community Trust
  • Hearty - British Heart Foundation
  • Kuddles the Kangaroo – Befriend a Child
  • NEO, Giraffe – Friends of Aberdeen Neonatal Unit
  • Pantosaurus – NSPCC, Childline
  • Rocket Kid – Vodafone Gigafast for Aberlour Childcare Trust
  • Spotless - Lord Provost Aberdeen Charitable Trust

Craft Market

There will be a variety of quality craft stalls and charity stalls placed around the event.  You can find a list of all our trade and charity stall holders here: 

Additional activities

The event will have a number of FREE activities such as the Charlie House fun zone which will have inflatables and garden games, face painting, climbing walls, wipe out inflatable challenge, crazy golf and multi sports from Aberdeen Sports Village.
 

There will be an entertainment stage with performances at the times below:

12.00 – Cults Academy Vocal Quartet and Fernielea Choir

12.50 – Myke Black

13.30 – Mascot competition

15.00 – Divine Magic

15.45 – City Moves

16.30 – Aberdeen City Youth Jazz Band
 

There will also be a pay to play fun fair.
