Statutory Consultation for Creation of New Grandhome Zone from Middleton Park Zone 2014

Rezone ground within the Middleton Park School zone which lies to the west and north of the current limit of the built up area of Middleton Park to a new zone to be created to serve primary education provision in the Grandhome development, with effect from August 2015
The Local Development Plan 2012 for Aberdeen City Council identified a development opportunity in the Grandhome Estate. This developed will result in up to 7,000 new houses being constructed between 2015 and 2030. This area is highlighted as OP12 in the map.

The impact of this development on the existing primary school estate was considered by the Education, Culture and Sport Committee at its meeting of 7 February 2013. One of the decisions of this meeting was that officers should review the zones of Brimmond School and Middleton Park School and consult on the proposal to rezone elements of each school's zone to a new zone which will be created to serve primary education in the Grandhome development.
A period of statutory consultation commences on 25 August 2014 and ends on 10 October 2014.
A public consultation meeting will be held on:
Wednesday 24 September 2014 from 7pm to 8.30pm at Middleton Park School.
Other requests from relevant partner organisations will be considered by officers as appropriate.

On 6 October 2014 the Proposal Document was amended to show revised pupil roll projections for Middleton Park School, excluding the Grandhome development. The pupil roll based on the existing school zone remains unaltered.
