Frequently asked questions – Easter in the City 2023

All activities commissioned for Easter in the City are free. There may be a charge for some activities advertised which are not part of the autumn programme. These are clearly marked and you should check before booking if there is a charge.

A universal offer is made to all families across the city.  Any family who lives in Aberdeen or any child attending a city school is eligible to enjoy these activities.

Six priority groups have been identified nationally as being most at risk of poverty and the majority of activities are for those within these groups.  Our priority groups are:

  • Children and young people in single parent households
  • Children and young people in ethnic minority families
  • Children and young people with a disability/additional support need or in a household with a child or adult with a disability/additional support need
  • Child with a young Mother (aged 25 or under)
  • Children or young people with a sibling under 1 year

Children and young people from a large family (3 plus children)

We will not be operating a waitlist for Easter in the City 2023.

Our sessions are for Aberdeen City residents and those children attending Aberdeen City schools and nurseries.

We understand that there may be times that your child is unable to attend their booked activity. You can cancel or reschedule your booking using the reschedule link in your booking confirmation email.

If you have deleted your confirmation email please contact who will help you cancel your activity.

We hope we wont have to cancel any of our events due bad weather and have contingency arrangements in place for many.  However, if we do have to cancel, we will contact you to advise.

We recognise that you may need support to apply online. You can ask a friend, family member or support worker to apply on your behalf. If you require dedicated support from us to apply, you can phone our Support Line on 0800 0304 713 and we can provide guidance over the telephone.

Yes, there will be first aiders at activities.

Your confirmation email will provide any specific requirements for participants.

Please let your activity lead know if you have any feedback on the sessions. We would love to see and hear about the fun your child has had at our events.

We may take photos at some of our events to use in future promotional materials, social media, local media or on our website. We will ask for consent at the time of booking. We will let you know if any photos are due to be taken and clearly displayed signs will indicate that photography is due to take place.

You will need to make separate bookings for sibling groups, however some of our activities are for families and you will only need to make one booking.

Please first select the activity you want to book the child/young person onto at the top of the page.

Next select the date that the activity begins on, for week-long camps you should select the Monday. You will then be prompted to enter the rest of your details.

If the date you have selected is ‘greyed out’ unfortunately it means this activity is fully booked. We will be updating our website regularly to advise of any sold out events.
