Frequently asked questions – Autumn in the City 2024

All activities commissioned for Autumn in the City are free. There may be a charge for some activities advertised which are not part of the programme. These are clearly marked and you should check before booking if there is a charge.

A universal offer is made to all families across the city.  This means that any family who lives in Aberdeen or any child attending a city school can enjoy these activities. You can view the activities available to all on our universal web page.

We have identified six priority groups as being most at risk of poverty and the majority of activities are for those within these groups.  Our priority groups are:

  • Children and young people in single parent households
  • Children and young people in ethnic minority families
  • Children and young people with a disability/additional support need or in a household with a child or adult with a disability/additional support need
  • Child with young parents (aged 25 or under)
  • Children or young people with a sibling under 1 year
  • Children and young people from a large family (3 plus children)

If you or your children meet the criteria above, you can access the activities for priority groups.

Children and young people with a disability/additional support needs and their siblings are also a priority group for the full programme (see question above).

Whist the programme aims to be as inclusive as possible if you have any questions regarding your child’s specific needs or accessibility, please contact the activity provider directly and they will be able to advise you.

Yes. You can book 3 half or full day activities OR 2 half/full day activities and 1 mutli-day activity per child. This is to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the programme.

Due to limited spaces if you book more than the above than your bookings may be cancelled.

Next, select the date that the activity begins on, for week-long activities you should select the Monday. You will then be prompted to enter the rest of your details.
