Qualification criteria
Certain apprentices are disregarded for Council Tax purposes. This means that we bill your household as if you were not living there. If you live alone, you will receive 50% discount.
You qualify for this disregard if you are:
- employed for the purpose of learning a trade, business, profession, office, employment or vocation
- undertaking training leading to an accredited qualification
- earning substantially less than you would receive after achieving the qualification
- not earning more than £224 per week before tax.
You must meet all of the above criteria to qualify for this disregard.
