Trading Standards aim to promote a fair and safe trading environment in order to protect both consumers and businesses from unfair and unsafe trading practices.

Trading Standards is responsible for providing advice and enforcing a wide range of criminal legislation in areas including:

  • Age restricted sales
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Fair trading
  • Petroleum and explosives
  • Pricing
  • Product safety
  • Rogue traders and doorstep crime
  • Tobacco law
  • Weights and measures

Trading Standards can provide advice to all businesses within Aberdeen City on complying with the consumer and trading laws within our remit.
