Trading Standards enforces a broad range of legislation which ensures that goods and services are described truthfully. Fair Trading covers a wide area of consumer and business protection law including misleading descriptions of goods and services, hallmarking, pricing practices, and unfair contract terms.

If you would like to report concerns regarding unfair trading or require advice on your consumer rights please contact Advice Direct Scotland.
This will be passed to Trading Standards for further investigation where appropriate.
