You can order replacement certificates for any birth, death or marriage registered in Scotland from 1855 to last year and for Civil Partnerships registered in Scotland from 2005 to last year.
Certificates for events registered in this year will need to be requested from the local authority where the event was registered
If you were adopted, you may request a copy of your adoption certificate from the National Records of Scotland.
Fees
The fee for a replacement certificate is £15 plus postage or £10 plus postage if the event was registered within the last month.
Additional copies of the same certificate ordered at the same time cost £10 each. You will receive your certificate within 2 weeks.
