Disruptions to bin services

Bins update 11 July

All wheelie bin collections for week commencing Monday 7 July are expected to be completed by the end of today. Thank you for your patience during recent delays.

Recycling Centres are open as normal if you have excess waste, recycling or large items. Local recycling points are open as usual and should be used for recyclables only. Please use them appropriately and do not leave anything beside the bins, even if they are full.

If you have large items such as furniture or white goods, that you no longer need, you can book a bulky uplift and we’ll collect them for you. Council tenants can book up to four free bulky uplifts a year. Please check for costs for all other residents.

Remember to keep batteries and small electricals out of your bin as they can cause fires. Supermarkets have in-store battery recycling and there are containers for small electrical items, that you can find out more about here.

There may also be delays to emptying communal bins. If you find that your nearest bin is full, please use the next nearest bin for your waste and recycling. If you find that bins are full or overflowing, please report it and we’ll empty them as soon as we can.
