A park of 6 hectares, almost hidden from view in a sheltered hollow between the Deeside Walkway and the River Dee at Cults. The park has woods, bog garden and cricket pitch, with the main feature being the bog garden with its wide variety of marsh and water plants. This park was gifted to the community to mark Queen Victoria's long reign.

Aberdeen Beach and Queen Links is a well-loved and extremely popular recreational area of the city. The park forms the whole open space along the sea front, it includes the beach itself, golf course, football pitches and large open spaces.

There is a dog exclusion zone between groynes 5 and 13.

There are toilets in the area.

Bon Accord Terrace Gardens is a lush green oasis next to the city centre. The area is mainly open grass and mature deciduous trees and provides a welcome respite close to the bustle of Union Street. The two-hectare park contains herbaceous borders, summer bedding and large open space.

Johnston Gardens is a beautifully peaceful hidden gem of a garden set in the west end of Aberdeen. The one hectare site was gifted to the City in 1936 and has streams, waterfalls, ponds, rockeries and rustic bridge. The garden is planted with rhododendrons, spring bulbs, heathers and alpines. And the ponds are full of irises and home to a number of aylesbury, mallard and muscovy ducks. There is also a small play area.

This restful and tranquil spot is the location for the Expro Memorial which commemorates the 16 men lost in a helicopter crash in the North Sea on 1 April 2009.

A core path joins Johnston Gardens to the rest of the network in the city.

Rubislaw and Queens Terrace Gardens is a pleasant strip of green lawn with mature trees, which stretches westwards from the city centre. The gardens are enhanced with an abundance of flower beds. This lovely green space provides the ideal break out area for those working nearby.

This popular five-acre park is mainly laid out with large open grassy areas. Mature deciduous woodland bound the park, which in turn is enclosed by a granite wall. It is a fantastic open space amenity with an informal football area at the north of the park and a children's play area near the entrance from Hilton Road.

Situated just off the city's main thoroughfare of Union Street, Union Terrace Gardens is a one-hectare park that provides a very important green space in the heart of the city and dates back to 1879.

Union Terrace Gardens is used for occasional concerts and leisure activities as well as providing an oasis for relaxation in the city centre. On the north side is a magnificent floral crest depicting the city's coat of arms. Above that are three beds that change each year and depict local and national groups or topical events.

Victoria Park is a beautiful park with grass open spaces, plenty of flowers, shrubs and deciduous trees. A spring highlight is the Rhododendron Dell, which bursts into a stunning array of colours and smells. In the centre of the park is a fountain made of 14 different granites. There is an automated public toilet in the park which you need to pay to use. The Friends of Victoria and Westburn Parks group was formed in 2011 to protect, promote and improve the green spaces. Westburn Park is a pleasant spacious park with open grass areas and mature trees, ideal for recreational use.

The Gilcomston Burn cuts through the 10 hectare site and feeds three gently cascading ponds. These ponds provide the ideal setting for a picnic and there are benches and picnic tables for just that. Further down stream is a small managed marsh area.

There is a children's play area and a practice cycle track for children to learn road safety and skills. There is also a skateboard ramp and a mini concrete skateboard/BMX park.

As well as open grass areas the park has a football pitch and kick about area with basket ball hoops. The indoor and outdoor tennis facilities and the excellent outdoor lawn bowls green are run by Sport Aberdeen

Westfield Park is the largest formal park in the Bridge of Don area. The large expanse of grass with a number of tree belts is crisscrossed by footpaths.

The children's play area is located near Alex Collie Sports Centre as is a skate park. The sports centre and football pitches are managed by Sport Aberdeen

A BMX track is situated near Bridge of Don Academy and a fitness trim track is laid out near the sports centre.
