Your data: Recycling champions

How we use your information

Aberdeen City Council is inviting residents in the Altens, Cove, Kincorth, Nigg, Torry, and Tullos localities to participate in a campaign to find “recycling champions” who exemplify great waste reduction habits, including reuse, repair, and recycling, in their home or within these communities.

We are collecting the name, home address, and a short statement from each nominee. The purpose of collecting this data is to allow us to ensure that entrants reside in the eligible neighbourhoods for this campaign, and to facilitate judging in order to award the successful candidates.

Who we share information with

Successful candidates will be featured in social media content, forming part of a communications campaign to promote positive recycling habits. Content will be viewable by the public. Their forename will be featured, but surname and address data will not be promoted. Personal details provided in the submission may be featured. This will be discussed with the successful candidate prior to the content being created.

How long we keep information for

Responses will be kept until the social media content is published, and successful recycling champions have received their voucher. This should be no longer than three months
