Prestigious new office tenant in Marischal Square

The UK-wide organisation which regulates oil, gas, and carbon storage and is helping to drive North Sea energy transition has moved to new offices in the prestigious Marischal Square in Aberdeen.

The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has moved from the West End to Marischal Square and will occupy more than 18,000sq ft of office space in the grade A building which is helping to regenerate the east end of the city centre.

NSTA joins other prestigious businesses at the office, hotel, and restaurant complex including the Royal Bank of Scotland, Chevron UK, KPMG, EY, Tenaris, Maggie’s Grill, Aberdeen Journals, Mackie’s, All Bar One, Costa, Tony Macaroni, and Marriott International.

Aberdeen City Council City Growth and Finance Convener Councillor Alex McLellan said: "It’s welcome news that another prestigious organisation, such as the NSTA, has chosen to move into Marischal Square.

“Marischal Square provides high quality office space within our city, and we are pleased to welcome yet another tenant.

The NTSA regulates and influences the oil, gas, and carbon stage industries, as well as helping to drive the North Sea energy transition, realising the significant potential of the UK Continental Shelf as a critical energy and carbon abatement resource.

The organisation also holds the industry to account to halve upstream emissions by 2030 and is fully committed to enabling the achievement of the UK government's commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

Nic Granger, North Sea Transition Authority Director of Corporate and CFO, said: “We are delighted to be moving into modern office space in Marischal Square, and sharing the building’s excellent facilities with some of Aberdeen’s leading businesses.

“In addition to the work opportunities, colleagues are excited to be working at the heart of an easy-to-reach, vibrant city centre boasting a range of shops, cafes, and restaurants.”
