Details

Join us for Out of this World, an event celebrating the centenary of women's suffrage. From 12-2, join us for a participatory street performance on the pedestrian area in front of John Lewis on George St. Try your hand at weaving and putting together a banner than has been in construction for several months, created by women across Scotland, during workshops hosted by the Huntly-based artist, Norma D. Hunter. The performance also involves weaver Mary Carol Sounness and textile artist Fiona Vadler.

There is no need to book tickets for the street performance – just turn up! This event is also family friendly!

From 3-4PM, there will be a talk by Terri Bell Halliwell at 32 St Andrews St (just around the corner), on her project inVISIBLE women. The talk is entitled 'inVISIBLE women: changing the status quo of gender imbalance in public monuments in the UK.’ Please book a ticket if you are interested in the talk, as seating is limited: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/out-of-this-world-tickets-49841727950
