Take One Action – Scotland’s global change cinema project – returns to Aberdeen from the 15-17 November to premiere the most acclaimed international documentaries focusing on social and environmental justice.
At a time of heightened polarisation, punishing austerity and climate emergency, the challenges to social and environmental justice can seem impossible to overcome. To help combat this sense of overwhelm, our programme provides a tangible source of inspiration and a much-needed antidote to powerlessness.
Meet the students fighting for free, decolonised education in South Africa (Everything Must Fall); the health workers who are operating on the frontlines of the battle against Ebola (Survivors), the determined Swedish politician striving to introduce a feminist foreign policy (The Feminsiter)... Delivered in collaboration with a host of fantastic partners, the 6 films that make up this year’s programme - and the audience discussions that complement them - offer an urgent reminder of the role we can all play in shaping our world for the better.
Explore the full programme on the Take One Action website or pick up a brochure in Aberdeen, and join us at Belmont Filmhouse 15-17 November to celebrate the people and the films that are changing the world!
