The course is the accredited Emergency First Aid at Work course, and as such stands on it's own. The PMLD element comes into adapting first aid to the particular needs of people who have a PMLD, so we pay additional regard to CPR when someone has a compromised body shape, epilepsy management, postural care, and airway management.
You will gain an award in Emergency First Aid at Work at SCQF Level 6. You will also receive AED training- Automated External Defibrilator.

Responsibilities and reporting
Assessment of the situation
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Basic hygiene in First Aid
Specialist input to include the needs of people who have profound and multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
This course is hugely beneficial for:
People who are involved in the day to day care of individuals who have a profound and multiple disability.
People who are involved in caring for individuals who have disabilities.
People who need to hold the Award in Emergency First Aid at Work at SCQF Level 6
Organsiations who need to satisfy the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid- The Health and Safety Executive HSE)
You will also receive a compact first aid kit and first aid book to take away.
The course is led by qualified and experienced instructors, with a background in rescue, trauma, casualty care and nursing. Both of our instructors have experience of working with people with a profound and multiple learning disabilities.
