On Friday 9th April, 2021 it will be the 250th anniversary of the birth of one of Aberdeen's great men of medicine. Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society cordially invites you to join this online event to celebrate the life and achievements of one of its founder members.
Sir James McGrigor; physician, military surgeon and botanist, is considered to be largely responsible for the creation of the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served as Rector of the University of Aberdeen. An obelisk to his memory now stands in Duthie Park. A statue was erected in Westminster, and later moved to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
