Aberdeen City Council in partnership with BP and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, will stage a dramatic opera in the park on Tuesday 26 June as part of this summer’s BP Big Screens programme.
Suitable for all the family; this year’s opera will be La Bohème.
The ever popular BP Big Screen event will return to Aberdeen on Tuesday 26 June with a live production of the classic Verdi opera “La Bohème.”
La Bohème is one of opera’s most popular and unforgettable stories. When young poet Rodolfo meets seamstress Mimi; it’s love at first sight. But faced by the cruel realities of poverty and ill health, will the flame that burns between them flicker and die? Or will the timeless strength of their youthful passion withstand every trial and tribulation that life can throw at them?
Conducted by Nicola Luisotti and with two wonderful casts including Maria Agresta and Ekaterina Siurina as Mimì and Matthew Polenzani and Atalla Ayan as Rodolfo
The transmission will be relayed via satellite direct to the big screen in Aberdeen’s Duthie Park from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden London.
This is a family friendly event, so bring a picnic, make yourself comfortable (picnic rugs, deck chairs, etc.) and enjoy the night.
