The Granite Men: A History of the Granite Industries of Aberdeen and North East Scotland

Granite is the most unyielding of building materials but from the mid-18th century the granite men of the North East hewed this material from the bowels of the earth and used it to fashion buildings, pave streets, build bridges over the Thames and create monuments for kings and commoners the world over.

Due to popular demand, author Jim Fiddes will be repeating his talk on the story of these men and their work.
