Moving Forwards with your Writing with Karen Campbell

You’ve got the bones of your story or novel, but how do you flesh it out – or pare it back? Or maybe you just have a guddle of notes and ideas, but need a structure so it all makes sense.
Over three sessions delivered by writer Karen Campbell (Wednesday 19 September, Wednesday 26 September, Wednesday 10 October), we look at plot, pace, character, tone, beginnings and endings, and pulling the strands of your work into a cohesive whole – including the all-important editing process.

Cafe Scientifique - You are when you eat - how time of eating influences body weight

An informal way to engage with the latest topics in science

Professor Johnstone works on dietary aspects linked to appetite control for a healthy body weight, across the lifespan. Come along to find out about the latest research on weight loss and how chrono-nutrition or timing of eating and human physiology influence body weight.

Introduction to Meditation

This introductory course shares basic Raja Yoga philosophy which helps to settle our thoughts so that we can then become focused and peaceful.
We learn the answers to the three key questions in life: Who am I? Who do I belong to? What is my role in this life?
Starts Monday 10 Sep, with three further sessions on 12, 17, 19 Sep.


DanceYoga is an exercise class for everyone who enjoys moving to music!

First we give our cardio a challenge with fun dancing to all sorts of music. No pressure on looks, it's all about the feeling! We'll finish with a mix of strength, flexibility and mindfulness exercises in our yoga session.

Free parking at the venue
Bring mat or towel for the yoga part, trainers (optional) for the Cardio part and water.

Come for a strengthening, stretching and relaxing yoga after your run/cycle or straight from the couch on your rest day.
