“My practice is based upon mankind’s relationship with the landscape.

Geology Rocks!

Explore the world underneath our feet. We will delve deep into the earth with exciting hands-on workshops, activities and storytelling. Make your own volcanoes, travel back in time with fossils and use microscopes to peer into the hidden world of minerals.

Marketing and Communication Workshop for Start-Ups

These one-to-one appointments will be run by volunteers from Aberdeen-based agencies, freelancers and local businesses with experience in all aspects of the marketing and communication process and communication channels, including social media. The session is suitable for start-ups and those new to business from all sectors.

30 minute one-to-one appointments between 2.00pm and 4.20pm (last appointment at 4.20pm)

Cafe MED: Enabling people to live well?

Join us for this informal talk bringing together leading bio-science researchers and clinicians.

Speakers: Chris Littlejohn (Consultant in Public Health, NHS Grampian) and Professor Vikki Entwistle (Chair in Health Services Research and Ethics, University of Aberdeen).

More and more people are living with one or more long-term health conditions. We will discuss how health and social care services can best support them in times of budgetary constraint.

Celebrating the centenary of Dame Muriel Spark, her long-time friend, author and journalist Alan Taylor joins Aberdeen City Libraries on World Book Night to give a special insight into the life of the beloved author.
In conversation with his wife and fellow journalist Rosemary Goring, Alan will be discussing his new book ‘Appointment in Arezzo – A friendship with Muriel Spark’.
Sharing intimate and funny memories of a long friendship with Muriel Spark, Alan will provide a unique, personal insight into the life and character of one of Scotland’s greatest writers.
