Protecting Children, Protecting Adults, Reducing Violence and Abuse
5-12 March 2026

Multi Agency Training

Venue: Marischal College
Date: Thursday 5th, Friday 6th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th March 2026
Time: 9:30am - 4:30pm

This four-day in-person training provides a comprehensive look at the Safe & Together™ Model. It builds domestic abuse-informed practice by focusing on a perpetrator pattern-based approach, survivor strengths, and a child-centred approach to working with families where there is domestic abuse. You do not need to have completed the Overview session to take part in the Core training. You must be able to attend all four days in full.

CORE Training explores the importance of:
  • Understanding the impact of domestic abuse on children and family functioning.
  • Assessing perpetrators’ patterns of behaviour.
  • Partnering with survivors to strengthen safety and wellbeing.
  • Intervening with perpetrators.
  • Recognising how domestic abuse intersects with other issues.

Participants of the CORE Training will:

  • Develop skills in assessment, interviewing, documentation and case planning.
  • Learn how to apply the Safe & Together Model to improve practice.
  • Explore how the Model can be used in their own roles.

This course is relevant to professionals across a range of sectors, including domestic abuse services, health, education, housing, justice, and social work, not just those in child protection. If you have any questions, please contact Taylor Ironside: tironside@aberdeencity.gov.uk
