Session aims:
- Consider what a “child” is under legislation and impact for those in conflict with the law
- Brain maturation for our children in conflict with the law – an introduction
- Why some children more likely to be in conflict with the law than others
- Importance of language and trauma informed/responsive approaches to children in conflict with the law
- Increase awareness of key stages in the justice system for workers and actions to take
- Consider children's rights and how we maintain these throughout a child's journey
- How we can ensure children in conflict with the law have rights respecting contact with the justice system
- Share resources available for working with children in conflict with the law
