Frequently Asked Questions
With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, the safety of our visitors and staff continues to be our top priority. We’ve put together answer to some questions we think you may have.  If there’s anything else you’d like to know please email us using the contact form or call 03000 200 293.

What safety measures are in place?
A range of safety measures are in place to ensure that the Maritime Museum is a welcoming and safe place for visitors and staff, in line with Scottish Government guidance. This includes:

  • Enhanced cleaning
  • Hand sanitising stations throughout the building
  • Additional COVID-19 health and safety training and provision for staff
  • Test and Protect check-in

Please do not visit the Museum if you or anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms.
During your visit we ask you to:

  • Wear a mandatory face covering, unless you are exempt. Children under 12 do not need to wear a face covering.
  • Use the hand sanitiser provided
  • Wash your hands often and for a minimum of 20 seconds

What about Test and Protect?
To support NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect service we are recording the name, contact number and date of visit when you scan the QR code at the door and will be kept for 21 days. It will be used to enable NHS Scotland and statutory partners to contact anyone who has visited Aberdeen Art Gallery around the same time as someone who tests positive for coronavirus. Contacting people who might have been exposed to the virus is an important step in stopping the spread.
