Frequently Asked Question

What happens when my child is due to transfer from primary to secondary school?

Pupils normally transfer from primary school to its associated secondary school(s) between the ages of 11 and 12. Your local primary school will be able to tell you the name of the secondary school(s) to which your child would normally transfer after the Primary 7 stage. Please note that if your address is not in the catchment area for the secondary school of your choice, you will have to make a placing request even if your child attends an associated primary school.
