Household Waste Recycling Centres
There are five Household Waste Recycling Centres in the city where you can take a wide variety of materials for recycling. See the table below for more information, including links to the locations on a map.
The new Grove Nursery Household Waste Recycling Centre in Hazlehead will accept all of the materials listed in the table below. For more information, see Grove Nursery, Hazlehead. Please note that there is an entrance barrier in place with a vehicle height restriction of 2.1 metres (6ft 10in). If you are taking a larger vehicle in, you will have to wait a few minutes for the barrier to be moved.
The use of Household Waste Recycling Centres for the disposal of business and trade waste (including builders' waste) is illegal. Staff will turn away any commercial vehicles attempting to enter the sites. All van drivers will be asked to complete a disclaimer form to state that they are bringing only household waste to the sites. We will use the forms to help analyse use of the Household Waste Recycling Centres and identify any misuse by businesses.
